Sandy has been a resident of Naples for over 25 years and has a great passion for the community and its residents, especially children. She has 20 years of experience as an occupational therapist, specifically in pediatrics and children with autism. Sandy started her career at Naples Community Hospital working inpatient, outpatient, acute care and pediatrics. She then spent 10 years with Collier County Public Schools providing occupational therapy services to diverse populations and varying diagnoses. During her time with Collier County Public Schools, Sandy was introduced to applied behavior therapy techniques within the classes for children with autism and behavioral issues. She has incorporated these skills with playful and compassionate occupational therapy activities to facilitate each child’s individual need for success. After Collier County Schools, Sandy transferred her skills to the Golisano Children’s Hospital (Lee Health), Children’s Rehabilitation Clinic where she has been employed for the past 8 plus years. Sandy’s experience with Lee Health includes serving as fieldwork clinical instructor, a safety team member and a certified Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) evaluator. Sandy specializes in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delays and Sensory Processing Disorder. When she is not providing compassionate care to her patients, Sandy enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, travelling, exercising and taking care of her animals.
