Speech and Language Pathologist

Victoria is an advanced Speech Pathologist who recently returned from working overseas for the past three years at several pediatric neurology polyclinics in Dubai, UAE. She serviced children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Retts Syndrome, Language Delay, Apraxia of Speech, Dysphagia Hearing Impairment including Cochlear Implants Cerebral Palsy and several children with rare genetic disorders. While in Dubai, she recognized the need to service the children in their natural environment, such as nurseries, schools and their homes for enhancing communication. Victoria also recognized the need to include the family during therapy sessions, Applied Behavior Therapists and Occupational Therapists as indicated during her therapy sessions. Victoria presented in Dubai, UAE for an Educational Trade Show: “Swallowing Disorders in Children” and additionally at an agency “Babies and Beyond: Language Disorders in Children”. She also had the opportunity to work as a traveling Speech Pathologist with High School students in the US Virgin Islands, as well as three Head Start clinics while in St. Thomas USVI providing therapy to the community.

Victoria is an advanced clinician who received her Master of Science in Speech Pathology from Howard University in Washington, DC in 1984 and she has over 30 years of clinical experience. She is licensed in the state of Florida and received certification through the American Speech and Hearing Association. She had a successful career in working on the trauma team in working with Traumatic Brain Injury at a Level I Trauma Hospital in Pennsylvania for many years. While at the trauma hospital she completed over 800 Modified Barium Swallow Studies for patients presenting with Dysphagia. She additionally worked at several outpatient rehab hospitals providing Speech Therapy in Pennsylvania and in Florida. While in Naples, she worked at a Physician Prescribed Extended Care (PPEC) with a medically fragile birth to three pediatric population. She also collaborated with the University of Miami Otolayngology Department for BAJA Bone Conductive Hearing services.
